I founded Dasher Law, PLLC in early 2018, with the goal of bringing a different approach to the practice of law in North and South Carolina. I believe that family is the most important thing in the world, and my passion is helping people protect their own families.
I am a Fort Mill, South Carolina native who chose to return to this area after law school in order to help the people I have known since childhood. Initially, I chose to practice family law because I knew I wanted to help families in conflict. After I became a mother, I began to understand even more acutely the difficult decisions and the heartache that so many of my family law clients face on a daily basis. This newfound understanding motivated me to expand my practice into South Carolina, after several years of practicing exclusively in North Carolina, in order to extend help to more families.
After I began litigating family court cases years ago, I quickly realized that the best way to resolve conflict is not by creating more conflict. I am a proud member of the Charlotte Collaborative Divorce Professionals group and the South Carolina Family Solutions Group, because I believe wholeheartedly that resolving conflict collaboratively or through mediation is the best thing that two people who are struggling through the pain and heartache of a divorce can do for themselves and for their children. I trained and became certified as a family court mediator in 2019 in order to assist even more families with resolving their conflicts through negotiated resolution. My goal in every family law case is to help my clients resolve their problems amicably and to do everything in my power to protect their children from exposure to the court system and the inevitable high conflict present in adversarial cases. I know with certainty that the traditional adversarial process, which results in the unnecessary involvement of the court system in family units, is incredibly destructive to families and to children. I believe that we have a social responsibility to help people resolve family conflict and to do our part to help children grow up in functional families, with two parents who are not emotionally devastated by the end of their divorce proceedings and are committed to co-parenting their children long after they separate from one another.
My job is to work with you to determine which approach is best for your case and, more importantly, which approach leaves you and your dignity intact at the end of the process. I am committed to doing everything in my power to ensure that you understand your options and have every resource made available to you.
I also offer wills and estate planning services to my clients in all ages and stages of life. My clients range from young families who want to write their first wills in order to establish guardians for their children in case the worst happens, to empty nesters who need updated estate planning documents as their lives change. I help clients with wills, living wills and advance directives, and powers of attorney. I know how important it is to feel like your family is protected no matter what - because I want my family to be protected, too. Particularly when you have young children, nothing is more important than peace of mind.
After spending many years in practice in other firms in the Charlotte Metro area, I established Dasher Law, PLLC in early 2018 in order to bring my own brand of practice to Matthews, my hometown of over a decade, and the surrounding areas. I am licensed to practice law in North Carolina and in my home state of South Carolina. I am a trained collaborative law attorney. I am a Certified Family Court Mediator. I am committed to listening to you, working to understand your priorities and concerns, and helping to guide you through this process. Let me help you take the first step toward resolution.
